CHOREOGRAPHER
As a choreographer, my role was to create and direct dance performances, whether for shows, events, or theatrical productions. This involves selecting music, creating aesthetically pleasing routines and choreographies that are appropriate for the target audience.
Furthermore, as a choreographer, I always had the opportunity to work closely with the dancers and other team members, such as my partner Patricia Marra, to ensure that all parts are in sync and that the performance meets the expected standards.
In my profession, it is necessary to stay up-to-date and informed about the latest dance trends and styles in order to create relevant and engaging performances. This includes studying other forms of art, such as cinema and theater, in order to incorporate elements that make the performance more impactful and exciting.
Being a choreographer is a challenging and creative task that requires communication and leadership skills. Thus, in my work, it was necessary to work as a team, motivate and inspire students, and be open to feedback and suggestions for improvement.
I have always worked with different age groups and know that the way to reach a three-year-old student is completely different from a teenager, for example. The way to access them is different, the level of technique and difficulty is different, and the type of music to be selected needs to be considered according to each particularity. Thus, part of my job was to study, care for, and adapt the choreography (and everything else involved) to the age of the bodies involved. In addition, there is also the issue of inclusion. I have always seen dance as a means of providing experiences to human beings. Thus, I often worked with people of all types, especially those with disabilities. I had the great opportunity to incorporate them into my choreographies so that everyone could dance together while respecting their differences, whatever they may be.
In summary, as a choreographer, I not only created dance performances but also conducted rehearsals and guided dancers in terms of technique and interpretation. It is an exciting and rewarding profession that allows me to combine my passion for dance with my ability to create and lead amazing performances.
